Laura McPheely

About Laura:
I am one of the woodwind and curriculum tutors at Trafford Music Service, which I am completely convinced is the most fun job in the world! My specialist instrument is the flute which I play both in the classical style and with the ‘fluteboxing’ technique (to sound like a drum kit). My current project is developing my fun, educational YouTube channel “Miss McPheely” for students to practise their pieces and choose music to play or sing. When I am not busy with all of this I like to be baking in my kitchen or outside walking and looking after my furry friends.

What are you listening to?
I enjoy listening to lots and lots of different types of music. I like pop, classical and folk the best. My favourite composer is Aaron Copland, my favourite album is ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ by Stevie Wonder, but at the moment I am listening to my Christmas album round and round to choose pieces for our December concerts! What’s your favourite?

Helen Pillinger

I run the rock academy here at Trafford Music Service, I love playing guitar, bass and drums but my specialist instruments are actually the clarinet and saxophone. I own over 50 musical instruments including 3 guitars I built from scratch. I'm a massive foodie and absolutely love cooking.

What are you listening to at the moment?
The music I listen to is rather eclectic, I like melodic metal so the new Trivium album is up there, also Toto and a band called The Maine. If I want to chill out I listen to modern jazz like Snarky Puppy or Marius Neset.

Helena Summerfield

About Helena :
