Music Production in Schools
Here you’ll find full lesson plans and video follow alongs for the pop songs & loops module. This module is designed to introduce the basics of music production and help students become comfortable with the interface of a DAW (digital audio workstation). It also offers valuable cross-curricular opportunities, making it a useful refresher for future years.
Introductory Module: Pop Songs & Loops
Suitable for: All KS2 (upper KS2 are likely to take
on extension activities)
Module length: 5-6 weeks (1 hour lessons)
Hardware required: iPads, one adaptor for plugging
into a board*
Software: Garageband for iPad
*highly recommended. Make sure to purchase the official Apple adaptor, as 3rd party adaptors have stopped working since a recent update.
